Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertilizers, a Navratna PSU under the Government of India, is engaging 326 apprentices for 2026-27. Applications close 20 SEPTEMBER 2026 at 5:00 PM. THERE IS NO WRITTEN EXAM. Selection is a straight merit list drawn on the percentage you scored in your qualifying degree or diploma, plus reservation. Nothing else. If your marks are good, you are in contention without sitting a single paper - which is rare and worth acting on. AND 95 OF THE 145 GRADUATE SLOTS ARE OPEN TO ANY GRADUATE. Secretarial Assistant takes 60 with any degree; Recruitment Executive (HR) takes 35 with any degree. Basic English and computer operating knowledge is what they ask for beyond the degree itself. BUT READ THESE THREE THINGS FIRST, BECAUSE THEY DISQUALIFY MOST PEOPLE WHO APPLY. ONE - THE TRAINING IS IN MAHARASHTRA, NOT HERE. All 326 places are at Trombay in Mumbai (177) or Thal in Raigad district (149). There is no J&K location. You would be relocating. TWO - YOU GET THE STIPEND AND NOTHING ELSE. The advertisement states apprentices are not entitled to any benefit, facility or allowance beyond the consolidated stipend. No accommodation, no travel, no housing help. Only uniform and safety equipment are provided. Work out what Rs 17,300 a month means in Mumbai before you commit. THREE - THIS IS NOT A JOB, AND RCF SAYS SO IN CAPITAL LETTERS. The notification states the company has no obligation to offer regular employment after training, and that apprentices have no right or claim to a job at any stage. Treat it as paid training at a Navratna PSU, which is genuinely valuable, but do not treat it as a back door into RCF. THE FOURTH TRAP IS A DATE. Your qualifying examination must have been passed ON OR AFTER 01.07.2023. If you graduated in 2022 or earlier you are not eligible, however good your marks. You are also ineligible if you have already done an Act Apprenticeship, if you hold a year or more of job experience, or if you are currently pursuing higher studies. THE 326 PLACES Graduate Apprentice, 145: Secretarial Assistant 60 (any graduate), Accounts Executive 50 (B.Com, BBA or graduation with Economics), Recruitment Executive HR 35 (any graduate). Stipend Rs 17,300. Technician Apprentice, 105: diplomas in Chemical 20, Electrical 20, Instrumentation 20, Mechanical 20, Civil 15, Computer 10. Stipend Rs 15,900. Allied branches are NOT accepted. Trade Apprentice, 76: Attendant Operator Chemical Plant 50 and Laboratory Assistant 6 need B.Sc with Chemistry as major; Instrument Mechanic 4 needs B.Sc with Physics as major - all at Rs 17,300. Electrician 6, Horticulture Assistant 6, Boiler Attendant 2 and Medical Laboratory Technician 2 need only 12TH PASS, at Rs 14,600. AGE: minimum 18, maximum 25 as on 01.09.2026. Relaxation of 5 years for SC and ST, 3 for OBC, 10 for PwBD. Minimum 50 per cent marks, with 5 per cent relaxation for SC, ST and PwBD. Electrician 6 and Horticulture Assistant 6 - 12TH PASS. 24 months, Rs 14,600. Boiler Attendant 2 - 12th pass with Science. 24 months, Rs 14,600. Medical Laboratory Technician (Pathology) 2 - 12th pass with Science. 15 months, Rs 14,600. If your graduation had Biology with only Zoology or only Botany, you may apply as a Graduate Apprentice for Secretarial Assistant or Recruitment Executive (HR). FOUR THINGS THAT MAKE YOU INELIGIBLE 1. Passing your qualifying examination BEFORE 01.07.2023. The date of passing must be on or after 01.07.2023. 2. Having already completed an Act Apprenticeship anywhere. 3. Holding one year or more of job experience. 4. Currently pursuing higher studies. AGE AND MARKS Minimum 18 years and maximum 25 years as on 01.09.2026. Relaxation: SC and ST 5 years, OBC 3 years, PwBD 10 years, and 5 years for children or family members of the victims of the 1984 riots. Minimum 50 per cent in the qualifying examination, computed on the final year or the aggregate of the last two semesters. A 5 per cent relaxation may apply for SC, ST and PwBD candidates. The qualification must be a REGULAR FULL-TIME course from a recognised university or institute. RESERVATION across all 326 places: Unreserved 145, OBC non-creamy-layer 88, SC 32, EWS 32, ST 29. SELECTION - NO EXAMINATION A merit list is drawn purely on the percentage secured in the essential qualification, with reservation applied. Candidates on the merit list are called for document verification. Where the result is in CGPA or grades, you must declare the equivalent percentage and produce a conversion certificate from your university at verification. Ties are broken by higher qualification, then by marks in the preceding examination. WHAT YOU DO AND DO NOT GET Uniform and personal protective equipment are provided. Graduate and Technician Apprentice applicants register as a student at nats.education.gov.in (NATS). Do this before you apply to RCF. Your engagement is only confirmed once the apprenticeship contract is approved on that portal. BEFORE YOU APPLY, CHECK ALL FOUR Did you pass your qualifying exam ON OR AFTER 01.07.2023? Earlier graduates are not eligible. Have you already done an Act Apprenticeship, or do you hold a year or more of work experience? Either one rules you out. Are you pursuing higher studies right now? That rules you out too. Are you under 25 as on 01.09.2026, with at least 50 per cent marks? WHERE THE TRAINING IS Trombay, Mumbai (177 places) and Thal, Raigad district (149 places). Both are in Maharashtra. There is no place in Jammu & Kashmir, so factor in relocation, rent and travel - none of which RCF pays for. THE STIPEND Rs 17,300 a month for graduate apprentices and for the B.Sc trades; Rs 15,900 for diploma technician apprentices; Rs 14,600 for the 12th-pass trades. For graduate and diploma apprentices part of it comes from RCF and part directly from BOAT, and RCF states it is not responsible for any delay by BOAT. Keep a bank account ready in your own name - the stipend is credited only to it.
