A year inside an airport, on a stipend, is what the Airports Authority is offering 205 people across its Northern Region for 2026-27. Anyone domiciled in Jammu & Kashmir or Ladakh may apply, and the training stations named in the advertisement include Srinagar, Jammu, Leh and Pathankot alongside some forty others. Understand how the places are allocated before you get your hopes up about staying close to home. Nothing is set aside for any particular state - all eleven eligible states and union territories draw on the same 205 places. Where you end up follows the location recorded against your portal registration, and once AAI allots a station it will not move you. What is paid is worth stating plainly: Rs 15,000 monthly for degree holders, Rs 12,000 for those with a diploma, Rs 9,600 for the ITI trades. Applying costs nothing. One rule quietly removes most applicants. Your degree or diploma must carry a passing year of 2024 or later.

Serve twelve months of apprenticeship at an airport or office of the Northern Region under the Apprentices Act, 1961 Keep the working hours of the AAI establishment you join and follow its discipline and safety rules Execute the apprenticeship contract on NATS or NAPS as soon as you report for joining Appear for verification of original documents and an interview when summoned by email Furnish a fitness certificate issued by a government medical officer before joining

ITI route, 60 places: COPA and Stenography 50, Computer Hardware and Networking 10. WHAT YOU MUST HOLD For the degree and diploma routes, a regular full-time four-year degree or three-year diploma in the relevant stream, recognised by AICTE. For the trade route, an ITI or NCVT certificate in the notified trade. THE YEAR YOU PASSED MATTERS Eligibility is confined to those whose degree or diploma bears a passing year of 2024 or later. A 2023 qualification, however strong the marks, does not qualify. HOW OLD YOU MAY BE Not below 18 and not above 26 on 16 September 2026. SC, ST, OBC and PwBD candidates receive the upper-age relaxation prescribed by the Government of India. WHO MAY APPLY AT ALL Indian nationals holding domicile of Chandigarh, Delhi, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Leh Ladakh, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh or Uttarakhand. REASONS AN APPLICATION IS SET ASIDE An apprenticeship at the same qualification level that you have finished, abandoned partway, or are serving right now - whether elsewhere or within AAI itself. Twelve months or more of apprenticeship or employment accumulated after the essential qualification was obtained. Naming more than one discipline, which causes all of that candidate's applications to fall. THE RANKING METHOD Marks in the qualifying examination determine provisional selection. Should two candidates match, the earlier date of birth prevails, and after that the date of passing. Grade points are translated to percentages using the rules of the awarding board or university. Verification of documents and an interview follow, then medical fitness, and only then does an engagement letter issue. THE MONEY Rs 15,000 each month on the degree route, of which AAI pays Rs 8,850 and the government Rs 6,150 through direct transfer. Rs 12,000 on the diploma route, split Rs 6,550 and Rs 5,450. Rs 9,600 on the trade route. A NECESSARY CAVEAT The advertisement states that AAI carries no obligation to employ apprentices afterwards and that the programme creates no liability on it to provide work. Travel to the interview is at the candidate's own cost.

Advertisement 01/2026/APPRENTICE/GRADUATE/DIPLOMA/ITI/NR from AAI Regional Headquarters, Northern Region, NATS Building near IGI Airport Terminal 2, New Delhi. The window closes on 16 September 2026, the same date against which age is measured. Registration comes before application, and the portal depends on your qualification. Degree and diploma candidates register at www.nats.education.gov.in ITI trade candidates register at www.apprenticeshipindia.org Having registered, look up the establishment named Airports Authority of India - RHQ NR, New Delhi. Its identifiers are NDLSWC000002 on BOAT and NATS, and E05200700101 on NAPS. Press apply, and a confirmation message about being contacted by the establishment tells you it went through. Nothing submitted outside those two portals is looked at, and verifying your own profile with the Regional Board is your responsibility, not AAI's. Name a single discipline. Naming two ends both applications. Nothing is charged for applying. Give thought to the location you register, since AAI states it will place selected candidates preferably at their registered location - but the station it finally allots stands. Queries about the NATS portal go to the Board of Apprenticeship Training, Northern Region, whose desk the advertisement prints as studentquery@boatnr.org, admin@boatnr.org and info@boatnr.org on 0512-2584056, 2584057 and 2580349. NAPS queries go to apprenticeship@nsdcindia.org. Both are portal helpdesks rather than an AAI recruitment line.
