291 Generalist and Specialist Officer Posts in JMGS I, MMGS II and III | Indian Overseas Bank
Indian Overseas Bank has invited online applications for 291 Generalist and Specialist Officer posts in JMG Scale I and MMG Scales II and III. Advertisement HRDD/RECT/04/2026-27, dated 28 August 2026. A correction worth making at the outset: several job sites are carrying a closing date of 29 September. The Bank's own advertisement sets registration and fee payment at 29.08.2026 to 15.09.2026. The last date is 15 SEPTEMBER. Only one of the fourteen posts is a generalist role. Manager (Branch Management), MMGS II, carries 100 vacancies and asks for a degree in any discipline plus three years as an officer in a scheduled public sector or private sector bank, at least two of them in branch banking, with Scale I Branch Head experience preferred. The remaining 191 posts are specialist: Manager (IT) 65, Manager (Credit) 35, Assistant Manager (Security) 25, Senior Manager (Credit) 15, Senior Manager (IT) 10, Senior Manager (Database Administrator) 10, Senior Manager (Risk) 6, Senior Manager (Network Administrator) 5, Senior Manager (Cyber Security Administrator) 5, Manager (Information Security) 5, Manager (Information Security Audit) 5, Senior Manager (Information Security) 3 and Senior Manager (Information Security Audit) 2. Every post carries a post-qualification experience requirement, and they differ post by post - the IT and information security roles generally ask for five years with at least three in a specified domain. Category distribution across the 291: UR 117, OBC 79, SC 46, EWS 28 and ST 21, with twelve posts reserved horizontally for candidates with benchmark disabilities. Each row's split reconciles to its own total and the columns to 291. Age is reckoned as on 1 August 2026 - 23 to 33 for Branch Management, running to 45 on other posts depending on grade and specialisation, with relaxation for reserved categories as per Government guidelines. Selection is an online examination followed by an interview, with the final merit list weighted 80 per cent to the examination and 20 per cent to the interview. Probation is a minimum of six months and posting is anywhere in India. Candidates should note the examination centres before applying: six only - Delhi/NCR, Mumbai/Navi Mumbai/Thane, Chennai, Kolkata, Hyderabad and Bengaluru. There is no centre in northern India outside Delhi, and none in Jammu & Kashmir or the north-east. The notification records that candidates attend at their own risk and expense. The fee is Rs 1,000 inclusive of GST, or Rs 175 for SC, ST and PwD candidates as intimation charges only. It is non-refundable and cannot be adjusted against any other recruitment. Experience as a Scale I Branch Head is preferred. The IT and information security posts ask for five years of post-qualification IT experience or more, with at least three in a specified domain.
